Homelessness

We are in the middle of a substance abuse and mental health crisis that has lead to a growing amount of homelessness in our city, county, and state. We need solutions, but we cannot sacrifice the safety of our children, seniors, families, friends, and neighbors. Vacaville needs compassionate solutions to help the homeless but these solutions must have accountability built into them. There is too much at stake to leave these solutions to the federal, state, and county governments. They must be community-driven and customized for Vacaville.

As a Deputy Sergeant with 18 years of Law Enforcement experience throughout our county, I have extensive experience collaborating with community stakeholders on a multitude of issues including those surrounding the homeless, drug-addicted, and mentally ill. I have seen firsthand the impact homelessness can have on families, businesses, and our environment. I know all too well the limitations our first responders and mental health workers are facing. I understand how frustrating this is to our community and the pressure it creates for us to do more or do something else. I am a leader who understands the complexity of these issues and will do the “right thing” not just something.
