After graduating from Vacaville High School, Roy attended and graduated from Beloit College.  While in college he met the love of his life, Shawna, and they started their life together in Vacaville, where they are raising their son Tyler.

Roy has 18 years of Law Enforcement experience and is currently serving as a Sergeant with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office.  Some of his previous positions and experience include Homeless Outreach and serving as an Environmental Crimes Detective, School Resource Officer, Gang Investigator, and Crisis Negotiator. This experience has prepared him to effectively serve the city.

Roy has served as the Operations Director of the Solano Family First Responders Non-Profit Organization and supports many local nonprofit organizations throughout Vacaville.  He has enjoyed coaching youth sports and currently sits on the Public Safety Academy Advisory Committee. Roy also serves as a Board Member of the Joint Powers Authority for Community Action Partnership (CAP) Solano, whos focus is to regionalize efforts to assist the homeless.
